“Besides the rebranding and remodelling, our strategic repositioning also includes building a new company culture. The new location will give the team another boost to pursue the successful momentum of recent years, in which INNO succeeded to become a profitable retailer once again. We, together with the new shareholders, are ready to grow even faster.”
Armin Devender, CEO INNO
Where winds of change can blow more freely
The building on Nieuwstraat/Rue Neuve exudes history but with a view to the future, INNO’s central services were ready for a fresh wind. One year ago, INNO finally came to a decision: the new Service Center would relocate to the 7th and 8th floors of The Precedent, at 104-106, avenue Louise/Louizalaan: a central location in the capital, where employees are within walking distance of everything.
A people-oriented office building
All the amenities in the new office building are designed to promote the well-being of the people who spend a large part of their daily lives here. The ambience in the offices is similar to that of the rebranded INNO department stores, with hushed colours, natural wood, plants and natural light creating a homely atmosphere. The spaces and floors are connected in different ways, promoting cross-pollination between services and employees.
A fresh wind is also literally blowing through the new INNO offices thanks to an advanced air filtration system and green walls that filter the air. These are just a few of the most visible features of this building, which also uses circular building techniques and is well on the way to obtaining ‘Outstanding’ certification from BREAAM, an independent science-based validation and certification system for a more sustainable built environment.

About Axcent of Scandinavia Ayad Al-Saffar has a long career in retail and branding. In early 2000, he acquired from the H&M family the retail chain Ur & Penn, which was founded in 1943 by the late Erling Persson (who later founded H&M). Ur & Penn is still owned by the Al-Saffar family. In mid-2000, Ayad Al-Saffar acquired the still very successful Dutch retail chain Lucardi, that also has stores in Belgium, and later the Dutch department store chain Kijkshop. In 2022, Ayad Al-Saffar, together with partners, acquired the Swedish department store chain Åhléns, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. He is vastly experienced in turning around and expanding retail chains and has, in every acquisition, turned red numbers into black in record time. Åhléns has 48 department stores in Sweden and made profit in the last financial year for the first time in a decade. Åhléns opened one new department store in June and will open two more this year.
