Belgaimage et ANP Foto join forces

The Hague/Brussels, 29/07/25 – The Dutch and Belgian news agencies are joining forces to create one of the largest image banks in Europe. Belga News Agency and ANP will merge the exploitation of their visual content into a new company. From autumn 2026, customers will benefit from access to the complete collections of both ANP Foto and Belgaimage, through a shared platform. This means a broader offering, more efficient access, and improved service.
The collaboration will result in a powerful, future-proof image bank for the Benelux, while maintaining the editorial independence of both brands. “By joining forces, we strengthen our position in Europe and improve our service,” says Martha Riemsma, CEO of ANP.
Global representation
The new organization will be exclusively responsible for exploiting visual material worldwide and enforcing copyrights. The infrastructure will be consolidated into a central database, with separate websites for ANP Foto and Belgaimage.
According to Patrick Lacroix, CEO of Belga, this is “a logical and strategic step forward, creating a powerful and reliable platform for our clients in the Benelux.”
Room for investment in innovation
By sharing technology, maintenance, and development, significant economies of scale can be achieved. This allows for additional investments in innovation and customer focus.
The new organization will be firmly anchored in both The Hague and Brussels and will become one of the largest image banks in Europe.
